Nuri Hazzard, a Washingtonian, graduated from the Ellington School of the Arts and continued education at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Nuri has been working in film, television, onstage, and in music since then. He performed as Byron on two seasons of the show Wu-Tang: An American Saga, played Arius in the Sundance film American Milkshake, and originated the role of Jamal in the off-Broadway hit Syncing Ink.

Audelco Award nominee Elisha Lawson, has been making a name for himself in the TV world. He has worked on major shows such as Boardwalk Empire (HBO), Blue Bloods (CBS), Shades of Blue (NBC), The Get Down (Netflix), and NCIS: New Orleans (CBS). Elisha worked as a professional improviser for years before doing professional theater. He Has been in productions such as To Kill a Mockingbird (Queens Theater in the Garden), A Raisin In The Sun (Indiana Repertory Theater), (A) Loft Modulation (A.R.T New York Theaters), Syncing Ink (The Flea Theater ), and A Christmas Carol at the Tony Award-winning theater, the McCarter Theater Center. Elisha Continues to grow and elevate in his craft with each project that he takes on.

Nsangou Njikam is an actor, playwright and Hip Hop Theatre artist originally from Baltimore, MD. His writing credits include Syncing Ink, Re:Definition, When We Left, A Freeky Introduction, I.D., 21 STRINGS and he is one of seven writers of Hands Up: Seven Plays; Seven Testimonials. Acting credits include Syncing Ink (Alley Theatre/Flea Theater), Re:Definition (La MaMa), Henry V (Classical Theatre of Harlem), Deep Azure (Congo Square Theatre). NSangou’s play Syncing Ink will debut at the Apollo’s Victoria Theater starting May 2024. Re:Definition (Hip Hop Theatre Festival reading) was developed and directed by Chadwick Boseman. NSangou has also written for and collaborated with Grammy Award winner Common, specifically on his Audible.com project BlueBird Memories, the 2020 NBA All Star Game and the Audible interview series Mindpower Mixtape. His Hip Hop Theatre play, I.D. (commission by Penn State University), premiered at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, South Africa. NSangou is a member of the 2015 Emerging Writers Group at the Public Theater as well as a member of UNIVERSES, a theatre company fusing jazz, blues, hip hop, Spoken Word and Spanish boleros. He received his BFA in Acting from Howard University. After tracing his African ancestry, he received his name from the Bamum King in Cameroon. He is represented by United Talent Agency. He currently resides in New York City.

Adesola Osakalumi is a Bessie Award-winning and Drama Desk-nominated Choreographer and Actor of stage and screen. His choreographic work includes Renaissance Mixtape (Victoria Theater); Skeleton Crew (Broadway, MTC); Cullud Wattah, Coal Country, Othello (Public Theater); runboyrun, Eyewitness Blues (NYTW); Good Grief (Vineyard); Jam on the Groove (Minetta Lane); and the film School of Rock. Hailing from Newark, NJ, Kyleel Proda (Prō-da) Rolle is quickly making a name for himself in music as a versatile & genre-blending producer, artist & entrepreneur. At only 11 years old, Proda made his TV debut on Showtime at the Apollo, introduced by Whoopi Goldberg as Apollo’s Child Star of Tomorrow. Shortly after, Proda made a cameo appearance in Alicia Keys’ music video for her hit single, “Unbreakable.” Throughout his adolescence, the young creative continued to develop his talents across mediums, performing, producing artists, creating graphics & designing clothing. 

In 2013, Proda went on to attend NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he was recognized for bridging the gap between the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music and the Kanbar Institute of Film & Television. Proda led the collaboration between film students & recorded music students of each institute, pioneering the “Sonic Motion Picture,” a short film built around sound. Proda wrote, executive produced and scored the film, PRÆY, which won Best Youth Film at the Blackstar Film Festival. This short film was an exploration of the complexities of choice amongst young Black men & their vulnerability to spiritual guidance. Since its success in the film festival circuit, PRÆY has evolved into a lifestyle clothing brand that blends conceptual art with high quality garments. 

After graduating from NYU in 2017, Proda founded XX/20 Visions, a creative agency that produces multimedia experiences for artists and brands. As the Principal Creative Director, Proda has led collaborations with artists like OSHUN, BYHAZE, Highclass Hoodlums, and Eboni Pearce, to create iconography, album artwork, music videos, short films, and a signature sound. As a music producer, Proda has also worked with contemporary legends, such as Black Thought of the Roots, Wyclef Jean, Sean C and Caron Wheeler of Soul II Soul. 

The success of OSHUN’s bittersweet vol. 1 led to a world tour, which featured Proda as a DJ and Emcee. In addition to performing across the United States, Proda has toured internationally, performing in over 20 countries including Kenya, France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, UK, and Brazil. Proda also performed internationally at a number of major festivals, such as Glastonbury Festival, MELT Festival, Africa Oye Festival and Couleur Cafe Festival. In 2019, Proda performed at the Grammys with Logic. In 2020, Proda toured with Ms. Lauryn Hill as the opening act for a sold-out five city tour, bringing his musical journey full circle. Throughout his career, Proda has opened for many major artists like Future, Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, The Internet, Masego and DMX. 

Proda is constantly evolving, and his art is testament to that. Creating new worlds through sonic design & imagery, Proda is a thought leader in the art world. Bringing us into the world of this project, Syncing Ink, is Proda’s latest creative mission.

KARA YOUNG was most recently seen starring on Broadway in PURLIE VICTORIOUS. She made her Broadway debut in Lynn Nottage’s CLYDE’S, for which she received a Tony nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play. She was also nominated for a 2023 Tony Award for her work in COST OF LIVING, and won an Obie Award for her performance in the Classical Theatre of Harlem’s production of TWELFTH NIGHT. Kara can currently be seen in Boots Riley’s I’M A VIRGO for Prime Video, which earned her an Indie Spirit Nomination for Best Breakthrough Performance. She also appeared in HBO Max’s THE STAIRCASE as well as Netflix’s THE PUNISHER. She also starred in the winning Sundance Short, HAIR WOLF. Kara starred in the MCC Theater’s ALL THE NATALIE PORTMANS, for which she received a Lucille Lortel Award Nomination. Her other stage credits include HALFWAY BITCHES GO STRAIGHT TO HEAVEN, NEW ENGLANDERS, REVOLVING CYCLES TRULY AND STEADILY ROLL’D, SYNCING INK, and PRETTY HUNGER.

Dennis A. Allen II is a multi-hyphenate artist originally from Hempstead, New York. As a playwright, his play The Mud is Thicker in Mississippi won the 35th annual Off Off Broadway Samuel French Festival. He is the recipient of Atlantic Theater Company’s inaugural Launch Commission, Clubbed Thumb’s Early-Career Writer’s Group, and National Black Theatre’s “I Am Soul” Playwright Residency. As an actor Dennis helped to develop and performed in Tyson vs. Ali and the world premiere of Kate Benson’s A Beautiful Day in November on the Banks of The Greatest of the Great Lakes. He is an adjunct professor at LaGuardia Community College, Montclair State University, and The New School, and is the Co-Program Director for the MFA Playwriting program at Brooklyn College. Dennis received his MFA from Brooklyn College’s Playwriting program. 

In the dynamic landscape of New York’s theater scene, Angela Christine emerges as a remarkable talent. Born in Virginia and raised in Germany, her life journey took her to Dallas, and finally New York. Here, she honed her craft by studying the Meisner technique at the William Esper Studio under Suzanne Esper—a journey as compelling as the roles she embodies. Her diverse career, marked by TV roles in Power Book II, ERIC (a new Netflix series), and Makeup x Breakup, commercials for brands like Western Union, Tim Hortons, and Michaels, and features in magazines such as Ebony and Vogue, showcases her versatility and magnetic presence. Beyond the screen, Angela is a thriving voiceover artist. She was also a member of a Christian rap group under the moniker Revelation, underscoring her multifaceted artistic expressions. As she prepares for her off-Broadway debut in Syncing Ink, Angela carries with her a conviction that art can deepen our understanding of self, others, and God, making her performance not just a display of talent but a testament to the spiritual and connective power of art.
